Just to set the proper context of potential conversation, I dare to be honest here. My personal favorites are guys like Dieter Rams, Johny Ive and Guys from IDEO. People who are trying to solve problems and make the world a better place to live with their design work. Yeah, you may find this too exalted, but such thinking is based on several strong principles.
I love beautiful things and products, but only when the aesthetics in them work to achieve meaningful goals and cannot harm anyone.
Sometimes beauty for beauty's sake can exist as a solution, if it really works to complete the task at hand. But it's a rare case.
In short, I love things that really work.
